This is to say hello to all my students and friends in China.

It has now been a year since i left China and relocated back to the country i was born in.

south africa has changed a lot since i left and now i must re-adjust in my "old"-new country.

i found i job but i am still looking for an engineering job. i am finding the south african sun a wee bit tooo hot but again, i enjoy the clear blue skies above my head.

Project Engineer on Power Management Generation Systems for the MD-90 aircraft generators and converter electronic units. Tasks included project manager duties such as budget and resource control, conformity of the flight simulator and qualification of the units. Project Engineer for the DeHavilland/Bombardier Dash 8 Series 400 Aircraft, mainly subcontracting AC Sub System. AC Sub system consists of the AC Generators, AC Generator Control Unit, Transformer Rectifier Unit, DC shunts and contactors. Team Lead for the Boeing APU Start 737 Return and Overhaul units. Duties include the scheduling of repair and overhaul, production priorities and lab analysis. Completion of FRACA (Failure Analysis and Corrective Actions). Holding a position as Hardware Principal Engineer with duties including specifying, designing, and testing Steering Control Modules for landing gear with emphasis on electrical/electronic and mechanical interfaces.  Applicant also responsible for maintaining departmental and project budgets.

Senior Systems Engineer for on-board Avionics systems on satellite and launcher. The system comprises of embedded controllers, antennae, transponders, Solid State Relays, Timebase, and Power Supplies. Concurrently Systems Engineer for the ground system (9 sub systems). This system tests the on-board equipment and performs automatic countdown for a launch. Duties as the Senior System Engineer consist of liaison with the client and completing the RFP and A-spec (Development Spec) definition. Responsible for the design, development, testing, integration, qualification of all the LRUs. Also responsible for the schedule and resource allocation.

Teklogic (ALTECH, RSA), 1986 to 1987, Design Engineer                                                                                                        

Real-time and Non-real time communication on DIGITAL PDP11/77 mainframe computers for MIL. Applications. Fortran 77 was used with RSX11 M+ operating system.

High-voltage reticulation and high-current equipment design. Test and commissioning of sub stations. Automatic Test Equipment hardware and software for the electronic test coach were developed. Maximum demand meter for power consumption was designed and installed by applicant.
